You can start brainstorming the idea, write the plan and you are one step closer to the common goals.
Let me bring you back to six years ago. I am a young student from the University of Malaya. My residential college is organizing a Grand Asian Chess Challenge(GACC) competition and they are inviting university students to join them. I desperately need merit marks. Therefore I join the event and become one of the committees. I am entering the publication department and my role is to edit the brochure to promote the event. As we know we need huge funds to make this event successful. Funding from the university is insufficient. Therefore, our president, Mr. Lim has decided to organize the donation drive. The purpose is to raise funds for the event.
Time passed and finally, we reach the date of the donation drive. We are divided into different teams and each team raises funds from particular area. Here is the journey of raising funds! We start to ask for donations around. When I approach people, I will ask,
Do you like chess?
Do you hear about this event?
Are you excited to increase the reputation of the country?
Next, I will clarify the vision of the GACC event. This event is to let all the chess players have the opportunity to gain substantial experience. It will help to grow the skill of local chess players. The event also increases the reputation of the country because it attracts international players to visit our country. I feel energized to share the goals. People will get excited willing to donate their money because they have the same values as us. They believe we can help to shine our country! Although I am raising not many funds, I feel happy and satisfied because I learn how to ask the question. I believe that I can improve myself by asking mission questions.
Lastly, asking mission questions can help you to assemble the right people to complete the mission. If they believe you, they can sponsor you, guide you and leverage all their resources to help you complete the mission. Pursuing a common goal is important because it will guide you and your team to complete the mission smoothly and effectively!
