An unforgettable award night

I am very excited because I am being invited to Seberang jaya toastmaster club award night. It is held on 30 July. The purpose of this event is to appreciate members who contributed to the club last term. I am here to witness the award session and participate in member induction. The venue is located at Landmark, Tanjung Tokong Penang. It is a homestay and has a large and comfortable space for us to conduct the reward session.

I arrive there early to avoid traffic congestion and also to help them set up the venue. The most memorable part is gift wrapping. I am not familiar with gift wrapping but I am willing to give myself a try. Firstly, I worry that I can't make it. In the end, I am able to wrap the gift successfully! In this wrap, I learn that the most difficult part is to fix the wrapper at the gift corner.

I enjoy good food before the event started. There are pizzas, french fries, and chicken wings. I feel happy because I sponsor drinks for them.  After all of us have dinner, we kickstart the event. The event is started by energetic MC, Steven.

Next, the most fun session is the game session. We are playing a word guessing game. First, a person comes up and reads the word, then the person can describe, draw and act to let the audience know what is the word. There is a lot of fun when I am playing the game!

After the game session, It was a new member induction session. Finally, I have officially become a new member of the Seberang Jaya club. I feel so touched when they pledge to support me to learn and grow in the future! I believe that I can build confidence, create valuable content and become a good speaker after I have gone through toastmaster training in this club.

Next is the award session. There are so creative because they have thought of a lot of special rewards like the most caring leader reward, most participation reward, treasure hunter reward and so on.The purpose of the reward is to recognize the effort of the member. I like how they design the slide and the way of showing the name of all the recipients. It has sound effects and animation. When they get the reward, they will feel that people recognize their effort. It is to encourage members to believe their efforts are worth and valuable to the club.

Moreover, there is a lucky draw session too!  I am so lucky because I win the prize. I guess that luck is created by staying positive and putting the effort into learning! Luck is equal to Oppa. OPPA stands for opportunity, preparation, attitude and action. Opportunity comes in a natural way. It appears faster or comes in an unexpected way. We always seek big opportunities and ignore small opportunities. We can always grab the small opportunity around us to achieve success. Say yes to the opportunity that helps you achieve your goal in life. Check out the podcast below:
Apples and its opportunities

Preparation means investing time in personal growth. Stay consistent in learning and build expertise. Attitude is the way of belief and how you look at things. Lastly is action. Action is doing something about it.

Luck

In the end, the award night ends smoothly. Thank you to the organizing team to make this event a success!  You can see that all people smile at the end!

In the next morning, I woke up at 5 30 am without an alarm. I prepare myself to start my jogging. I feel grateful because Alice guides me to run around the gurney and straits quay. The scenery there str very nice and it motivates me to continue running. I indulge in the surroudings and forget about tiredness. I follow Alice's pace because I can give her motivation and I also can maintain my stamina until the end of the run. On the running journey, I meet Winne. She is my friend from the toastmaster club too!
